All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.

They create a fun and informal social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Christina, the owner of Music Together Aloha, is a native Californian who has worked with children for the past 20 years. Her journey with children began in Hollywood, as she taught toddler classes at Creative Space, was a preschool teacher at the Sunshine Shack and was invited to become a Music Together® teacher! 

She earned her graduate degree in Marriage Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary and has worked as a clinician for 2 year old children through 18 year old youth with social, emotional and developmental needs. Currently she works full-time as a foster care social worker. 

Christina is particularly fond of dancing. She was a professional Polynesian dancer and now enjoys dancing Latin Ballroom, performing with a Ladies salsa team in Oahu.

Becky is the owner and director of Ohana Music Together which she opened in 2003 and ran until March of 2017 when she decided to retire. Music Together Aloha is now thrilled to have her on board as a Music Together teacher in Kapolei. 

Becky received her BA in drama followed by a successful theatre career in New York with lead roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway and several Broadway touring companies. She also made numerous appearances on television and radio, including in Hawaii as The Music Expert on "Building Blocks for Tots" (KGMB 9 and The CW) in 2008 and 2009. Becky has made presentations on the effective use of music in the classroom for the Hawaii Assoc. for the Education of Young Children, Kama'aina Kids, The Seagull School, and "Read To Me International." She has also led classes for the state library system, HeadStart, and HealthyStart as well as MOMS clubs and Baby Hui's. Ohana Music Together has been featured in The Star Advertiser, Mid-Week, Hawaii Parent and Go! Kailua magazine. Among the awards OMT has won: Three times for "Best of Honolulu Family Magazine”: in 2014 and 2015 for "Best Place to Take Music Lessons", and in 2013 for "Best Place to Jam with Your Kids". Also for Nickelodeon’s “Parent’s Picks” in 2009.

In 2007, The Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ awarded Becky Music Together Certification Level I status for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education. Becky is a member of the national "Early Childhood Music and Movement Association".

Music has been a part of Shira’s life from the very beginning, in fact her name means “song.” She has been leading worship for various churches and ministries since the age of 15 and plays piano and a little guitar. She is a song writer and has recorded an album of the songs she wrote while living overseas as a missionary in North Africa. Along with music she loves children and has volunteered at orphanages around the world.

Shira is originally from Oahu and moved back home a few years ago to be closer to family. Shira started teaching Music Together Classes in 2018 and has since taken over as Manager of the Program. She loves getting to be a Music Together teacher and being a part of our children's lives!

Miwa was born and raised in Japan, but relocated to Hawaii when she became enamored with Hawaii slack key guitar and had an opportunity to apprentice with slack key master Raymond Kane.

Miwa played in iconic band, Kupa'aina as a kiho'alu (slack key guitarist) and for over ten years, she has performed slack key and ukulele for weddings and other special events. She and husband, Alastar, have a three year old daughter who naturally loves music.
